Constructing futures - Apollo partners with NRL Cowboys House

As a commercial builder, Apollo understands the importance of strong foundations both in physical structures they create and in the communities they support.

With that in mind, they have come on board as part of the Cowboys Community Foundation family, signing on as a Friend of the House of NRL Cowboys House.

“NRL Cowboys House is an inspiring initiative that directly supports Indigenous students from remote North Queensland communities, offering them a safe and supportive environment to pursue their education,” Apollo’s Stakeholder & Operations Manager Amy Tayt said.

“It’s not just a place to live, but a holistic support system that focuses on academic achievement, personal development, and cultural connection,” she said.

“This partnership is a direct extension of our commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion within the broader community.

“It resonates deeply with our values, reflects our dedication to reconciliation and our desire to contribute to the social, economic, and cultural wellbeing of Indigenous communities.

“Additionally, by investing in initiatives that support Indigenous youth, we can help develop a future workforce that is skilled, diverse, and inclusive.”

Apollo is a dynamic construction company founded in Queensland in 2008 which has a unique people-centric ethos.

With sites in Townsville, Brisbane and Gold Coast they are committed to creating positive, lasting impacts to the communities where they operate.

Apollo launched its Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) last year which they labelled a significant milestone and the beginning of their journey towards reconciliation. Building on this foundation, Apollo is now developing their Innovate RAP in 2025, representing the next phase of their commitment to reconciliation.

Cowboys Community Foundation CEO Fiona Pelling said the Apollo team had already immersed themselves in the House community.

“Building strong connections with our partners is extremely important to us, as is aligning with like-minded organisations who truly care about the community and making a difference,” Fiona said.

“We have the strong building blocks for an enduring relationship with the Apollo team that will have meaningful, positive impacts into the future,” she said.

“They’ve been spotted selling raffle tickets at our NAIDOC event and interacting and sharing a meal with our students at our Stakeholder Dinner.

“We look forward to working together to provide invaluable opportunities for our young people who aspire to careers in the construction industry.”
