She has been in the cleaning industry for almost 15 years, has been employed with Biniris for 8 of those, has worked with the Cowboys based at the Hutchinson Builders Centre since it opened, and is now practically part of the furniture at NRL Cowboys House as well.
“As a cleaner, you can sometimes feel very unappreciated, but I’ve never felt that way with the Cowboys, ever,” she said.
“We’re here at NRL Cowboys House Monday to Friday for three hours each day tending to the student accommodation common areas, offices and amenities across both campuses and also on the ground servicing Cowboys HQ,” she said.
“I find it really rewarding, especially being a Cowboys supporter, and I go home every day feeling happy and satisfied that I’ve done a good job that makes a difference to others.
“Biniris is an extremely supportive employer, they look after their people and the Cowboys is just like a family really, I love it. I couldn’t see myself working anywhere else.”
Biniris has been operating in Queensland since 1989 and has since expanded into every state and territory.
Committed to sustainability, community contribution and Indigenous reconciliation, they have been a Partner of NRL Cowboys House since its inception in 2017.
And earlier this month they again extended their support for the Cowboys Community Foundation, re-signing as House Partner to the end of 2025.
Cleaner Hannah, who is relatively new to Biniris, said working at the House was the best part of her day.
“There’s a really good vibe here, everyone smiles and says hello and the kids are great, they always appreciate the job we do and they’re always grateful,” she said.
“This is the kind of job that makes work not feel like a job.”
Cowboys Community Foundation CEO Fiona Pelling said the strong relationship with Biniris was crucial to the ongoing sustainability of the House.
“The value of having a clean and tidy work or living environment cannot be overstated,” Fiona said.
“We’re incredibly grateful to Biniris for their ongoing support which includes contra cleaning services for the Boys Campus,” she said.
“Our partnership adds to the comfort and homely experience of House staff and students every day.
“It also provides our Foundation with huge savings on cleaning costs which, in turn, supports our economic sustainability and helps us continue making a difference in other ways to these amazing young people.”
